Michelle Abeyta
Michelle Abeyta (Democratic Party) (also known as Paulene) is a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 69. She assumed office on January 1, 2025. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Abeyta (Democratic Party) ran for election to the New Mexico House of Representatives to represent District 69. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Michelle Abeyta earned an associate degree in hospitality and tourism from Central New Mexico Community College, a bachelor's degree in Native American studies and communication from the University of New Mexico, and a law degree from the University of Arizona. She also graduated from Emerge New Mexico’s Class of 2017. Abeyta has served on the To’hajiilee Community School Board of Education, the National Native American Bar Association Board, the Woman, Infants & Children (WIC) Board for the Acoma-Canoncito-Laguna Service Unit, the Canoncito Band of Navajos Health Center, Inc. Board, and the National Native American Law Students Association.[1]
