|For years, I have seen District 6's neighborhoods-particularly Park Heights and Pimlico-be corralled and ignored. I have also seen the prosperity across Northern Parkway and ask myself why can't District 6 do better? To date, folks in our district are too afraid to walk around in their neighborhoods due to rampant crime. Back-door deals are pushing more of our elderly and underserved populations away from their homes under the guise of "development." Property taxes are the highest in my lifetime and yet District 6 is still plagued with crumbling infrastructure, under-performing schools, and broken families. Without a doubt, in the past 20 years, District 6 has gone from bad to worse.
I currently work as a financial literacy educator and through hard work, I have helped countless women throughout Baltimore better their lives. In doing so, I have managed to learn the nuances of policy on a wide variety of issues. I have the experience, grit, and motivation to design solutions, navigate the complicated governmental agencies, and get things done. I'm not a career politician, but I am ready to lead and finally make a better District 6.- Establish and carryout a community-focused violence reduction strategy with key stakeholders.
- Reduce the number of vacant home and improve water-system infrastructure in neglected neighborhoods.
- Reduce property taxes for elderly and low-income homeowners; secure private/public investment funds for major home repairs.
