I’m a mom and a PPS graduate who running for Portland School Board because I believe every child can succeed. As the mother of PPS students and a PPS graduate with experience in budgeting, equity and climate policies, I will work with you to close the achievement gap.

I’m not satisfied that so many of our Black and brown students are not proficient at reading and math, and I will work to ensure our marginalized students thrive. When all students succeed, our community wins.

  • We need to assure all Portland students can read by the end of the third grade.
  • We need to do everything in our power to address climate change, including preparing our students for a green economy.
  • Closing the achievement gap should be seen as the community's most urgent issue. We need assure our Black and brown students have opportunities to become the next cohort of doctors, nurses, artists, poets, scientists.

My first job was at a fast food store whose specialty was hamburgers. I don't remember how long I held the job, but I was a vegan at the time.
To set education policy, approve a budget and oversee the performance of the Superintendent.
Families, students and teachers and the workforce that keep the schools up and running.
