Ballotpedia biographical submission form

The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:

What is your political philosophy?

I'm running for office to bring the Assembly to the community. To inform and make known the policies and options which affect our quality of life. I'm here to change the world and I'm starting locally. I'm not convinced we have to adapt to the world as it is, rather we need to make changes to the world we live in. I'm a native born Californian and have lived over twenty two years in Orange County. I've raised my beautiful daughter and son here, and graduated in the top three percent of my class from Cal State Fullerton. I am the proud daughter of immigrants. My dad, born in Holland, is a survivor of brutal Nazi beatings and imprisonment, and when my Mexican born mother immigrated to the United States, she was, to put it politely, treated as a second class citizen. When I was in elementary school, one of the most significant gifts I received was from my dad. It was a patch to sew on my BLUE jacket, and it said, "Women's Lib." Little did I know, I would be standing in front of you today joining in the fight for equal pay for equal work, women's reproductive rights, Medicare for All, and for protecting the rights of senior citizens from financial and physical abuse. As a California Democrat, I stand with Veterans of all generations and services. They have served us and we must serve them. I stand with you as a believer of science. It's remarkable that in this day and age a candidate needs to say this, but I am with the scientists and those who are fighting to keep our environment safe and healthy. And we stand together in the fight to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. I stand here today because of the values my immigrant parents taught me. Hard work, love, decency, and respect. I'm obviously a California Democrat. My passion is to serve Orange County in the State Assembly representing District 68. I need your help and your vote. Find out more at michelleforassembly.com/donate, and help me bring the Blue Wave to Orange County, District 68. Thank you very much.[2]
