Michelle Kommer
Michelle Kommer was the North Dakota Commissioner of Labor. She was selected by Governor of North Dakota Doug Burgum (R) on November 28, 2016, to succeed Troy Seibel.[1] She stepped down in 2019 following her appointment as state commerce commissioner on December 11, 2018.[2]
Biography
Kommer worked as a chief administration officer and general counsel for Western State Bank. She is also on the board of the North Dakota Heart Gallery, a nonprofit organization that encourages North Dakotans to adopt.[3]

About the office
The commissioner is responsible for enforcing wage and labor laws in the state, and investigation claims of discrimination in the workplace, housing, public service, public accommodations and credit transactions.
