Michelle Moore participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on March 18, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Michelle Moore's responses follow below.[1]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
“ | 1) STUDENT SUCCESS - Focus on ensuring each student has a clear path to post-graduation success 2) OVERSIGHT - As elected officials the Board should maintain a united independent-watch dog stance in order to confirm all policies related to students are applied fairly and equally, teachers have a voice, finances are prudent and necessary, administration is held accountable and residents' issues are addressed. |

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | CCISD faces challenges in keeping up with enrollment growth, maintaining aging facilities, and ensuring post-graduation success. To meet these challenges, school construction and renovation needs to focus not just on the needs of the next few years, but longer term to ensure that construction is not needlessly stopped and restarted. CCISD also has many aging buildings. Preventive maintenance is key to keeping these buildings in excellent condition and ensuring that all students receive a great education and experience, regardless of facility age. CCISD also needs to focus on ensuring a clear path to post-graduation success. Many excellent CTE programs already exist in the district that assist with this. These programs need to be continued and expanded and should emphasize the path required following graduation to enter and succeed in these field. Additionally, 5-year post graduations plans should be a goal for all students to ensure that they have an idea and preparation for the future and know how to get into and succeed in their chosen field.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Michelle Moore answered the following:
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
“ | I possess many years of experience in financial assessment. I studied Accounting, Public Administration and practiced as a C.P.A. I have a strong passion for policy planning and equitable execution, and fiscal restraint in the stewardship of taxpayers' funds. In a growing district such as CCISD there must be a strategic placement of limited resources in order to maximize funds that directly benefit all students. I would strive to represent all taxpayers and students.[3] | ” |
“ | Strong Ethical Core which encompasses: Respect - Honesty and Integrity - Independence - Fairness - Respect All People - Humble - Kindness and Compassion[3] | ” |
“ | The typical purpose you will read is the board sets goals, adopts policies, oversees the budget, and hires the superintendent. I see the board most importantly as a watch dog over the entire umbrella of items, ensuring competing priorities are addressed. As elected officials they should maintain an independent stance in order to confirm all students are treated fairly and equally, teachers have a voice, finances are prudent and necessary, and residents' issues are addressed.[3] | ” |
