Michelle Rivas
Michelle Rivas was a member of the Twin Rivers Unified School District school board in California, representing Trustee Area 2. She assumed office in 2014. She left office in 2024.
Rivas won re-election to the Twin Rivers Unified School District school board to represent Trustee Area 2 in California outright after the general election on June 7, 2022, was canceled.
Biography
Michelle Rivas is a resident of Sacramento County, California. Rivas studied at American River College before she began her career as an assistant to the deputy legislative secretary in the office of the governor of California during Pete Wilson's administration from 1994 to 1995. She spent 11 years as the manager of external affairs and as the legislative advocate for the California Dental Association until she left that position in 2010. Since then, Rivas has spent time as the executive director of the California Hospital Association and as the director of development and fundraising for the CDA Foundation.[1]

Michelle Rivas defeated incumbent John Dexter in the race for the Area 2 seat in the general election on June 3, 2014. This was a rematch of the 2012 election that resulted in Dexter ousting Rivas from the seat.
