Campaign website
Talkington’s campaign website stated the following:
| “ |
The Economy Fixing the Broken Economy Lowering taxes on small businesses and the middle class, putting money back in the pockets of hard working-Americans. Government shouldn't outspend the economy, it's time to review and consolidate programs and reduce overall spending. Housing across America is too expensive, its time we build work-force housing to reinvigorate America's suffocating economy. Instead of racking up trillions on the tab of hard-working Americans, ending inflation is simple and Michelle will do just that by lowering spending. Education Rebuilding the Future of American Education Reforming No Child Left Behind and repealing Common Core Standards. Ending and preventing bureaucrats from writing education curriculum, while putting the power back in the hands of the parents and teachers. Building a national registry for parents to check curriculum and be informed of what their children are and will be learning and provide information. All parents should have an option to place their children in schools that benefit them to the fullest extent possible. Crime Rescuing America from crime Instead of letting Criminals off with a small fine for violent crime, it's time to punish them and ensure communities are kept safe. Repeat offenders shouldn't have their sentences lightened. They should face stiffer consequences for their crimes. While some prosecutors are minimizing the actions of criminals, congress must enforce stricter protocols for prosecutorial conduct. Criminals at a higher rate in nearly forty-years are breaking into vehicles, homes, and other properties. It's time to crack down.[2] |

- Economy is key, and retaining maryland residents for generations is crucial. I will work within the legislature to reduce taxes. I support the repeal of the inflation tax as Marylanders are suffering at greater levels than other states. Lowering taxes for retirees, military, and first responders will ensure Maryland families can remain in our great state. I will fight to secure a higher return on our Charles County tax dollars.
- Education is critical and Parents have the right to ensure the best education for their child. We must immediately address the loss of learning, sinking math & literacy rates, violence, and mismanaged funding that leaves our students and valuable teachers lacking.
- Crime must be met with stiff consequences and criminals, especially violent and repeat offenders, must be taken off the streets. Without safe streets, we lose our communities. We can do this while addressing mental health and rehabilitation for those whose behavior warrants it. I support the police and believe we can meet the balance of law enforcement and accountability.
