Campaign themes

2016

Watkins' campaign website listed the following themes for 2016:

Michelle will advocate and promote community unity. Northwest Huntsville are a people of improbable hope. Our students deserve a leader who will unite us so that our voices will be heard. Together we can build a bridge between parents, students, teacher's and the Huntsville community. In years past, transparency is lacking in the seat of school district one. The residents of Northwest Huntsville have yet to be heard in our schools, at the school board meetings and at the Huntsville Chamber. Michelle Watkins is well equipped to represent us as a united voice of one.

QUALIFIED TO LEAD!

1. As an Educator, you never stop being a teacher. Teachers have a heart for education and ensuring that students are learning is important to true Educators.

2. We are charged to be good stewards of our time, talents and treasures. Our students need the help and support of community members.

3. We need representation for our community as a whole, we need the best certified and qualified teachers, we need textbooks, we need libraries, and our students need to be taught subject content not how to take a test. There are several reasons why I am running for HCS District 1 Board Representative, but the main reason why.........Our Students, Our Future!

A unified community makes a difference in how neighborhood schools perform academically, results in higher property values, decreases insurance rates and instills a sense of pride.

OUR PLATFORM PART 1
