Michigan 2015 referral measures, legislative votes
The following tables detail how Michigan's state legislators voted on placing a constitutional amendment on the May 5, 2015, ballot. Voters overwhelmingly defeated the measure.
The one legislative referral on the May 5, 2015, ballot is a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. In order for the amendment to get placed on the ballot, two-thirds of the members of both houses of the Michigan State Legislature needed to vote in the affirmative. However, an affirmative vote did not necessarily mean a legislator agreed with the stipulations laid out by the measure. Rather, it meant that the legislator wanted to place the issue on the ballot, so that constituents could vote on the issue.
