The ballot title for Proposal No. 3 was as follows:

PROPOSED AMENDMENT AUTHORIZING BORROWING OF NOT TO EXCEED $80,000,000.00 TO PAY BONUSES FOR MILITARY SERVICE DURING THE "KOREAN WAR."

No. 3 Shall Article X of the constitution be amended by adding Section 26 to authorize borrowing not to exceed $80,000,000.00 for payment of bonuses, of not to exceed $500.00 to each who performed military service between June 27, 1950 and December 21, 1953, or if deceased, to other persons named therein?

A two-thirds vote is required during one legislative session for the Michigan State Legislature to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot.
