What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Sue Shink (D)

I am personally passionate about listening to residents so I understand the worries and struggles of people as well as the joys and strengths. I love to work with people to figure out how we can solve problems together and make our community better and then get to work and get it done, bringing in data, experts, and others who bring value to the situation to get the work needed done. I have been able to make improvements in the way Washtenaw County engages the public, addresses root causes of poverty, supports education, takes care of our natural resources and provides physical and mental health care. Please take a look at my website to see the work I've done to support reproductive health care, address gun violence, preserve farmland and open space, fight for clean water, increase affordable housing, increase opportunity through removal of barriers and investment in neighborhood organizations and preschool access--and much much more!
