Economy - The economy is in a downward trend and Michigan Businesses and Residents need a lifeline now more than ever. Government has to eliminate burdensome regulations, lower taxes and let businesses succeed and create good, high paying jobs. State Taxes should be lowered or temporarily eliminated during this time to provide relief to Michiganders.

Education- Every child deserves access to quality education and that includes access to quality trade schools, if their child's education. Support Education Savings Accounts allowing parents to determine which educational option is best for their child whether it be public, private or home schooling. Believe in the traditional teaching of "reading, writing, arithmetic" along with real life skills including personal finance and home economics to prepare students for real life.

Election Security - Every US citizen should have the right to legally vote. Every US citizen should provide photo identification as a requirement to vote to ensure election integrity. Signatures should be verified. Ballot boxes must be secure. Absentee ballots should only be mailed upon request. This has been standard procedure for years and should be upheld so that citizens feel secure in the outcome of elections.
The following are the areas of public policy I am passionate about:

1) Public Safety - We have seen an incredible rise in crime due to lax enforcement of criminal justice standards as well as a disrespect for our law enforcement officers. I am passionate about supporting our Police Officers who put their lives on the line on a daily basis to protect us. I support the increase of investment in programs including training and onsite counseling and oppose cutting budgets. We must enforce our laws and protect our citizens.

2) Mental Illness - Watching on television and reading the news of horrific acts of violence like those that happened in Oxford, the rise of suicide especially during covid and seeing individuals on the streets with placards begging for help is heartbreaking and must be addressed. I am passionate about instituting a program ensuring the mentally ill receive quality medical care that they need. The mentally ill are in desperate need of help and should no longer be ignored by a system not equipped to help them.

3) Energy - Michigan and the United States must become self-reliant. The war in Ukraine and the incredibly expensive prices at the pump have reinforced the need for self-reliance. I support the elimination of the gas tax at the pump. I also support energy projects like the Line 5 tunnel project that ensures protection of the Great Lakes while providing greatly needed energy resources to Michiganders.
