Michigan bill proposed to allow governor more appointments

LANSING, Michigan: Senator David Robertson announced his plan for a constitutional amendment which would allow the governor the ability to name up to 1% of the government's workforce. The plan, which was presented to the senate Reforms, Restructuring and Reinventing Committee, would require two-thirds support in each chamber and passage by Michigan voters. If passed, the governor would be allowed roughly 500 new appointments on top of the 120 appointments the governor can already make.[1]
