Michigan: On Monday, July 19, Chief District Judge Darryl Mazur asked District Court judge James Justin to remove himself from the Twelfth District Court bench. On that day, the Michigan Supreme Court granted the tenure commission’s request to suspend the judge. According to the state Supreme Court's order, Justin's suspension is effective "until further order of the court" but the order does not give any details as to the reason for the suspension. Mazur had not seen the grievance made against Justin, but did say that, "There was an allegation of abuse of authority."[1]
