Voters in the Midland Independent School District, which is located in Midland County in western Texas approved a $9.475 million bond proposal in 1982. The district placed the measure on the ballot to seek funding for the Santa Rita and Scharbauer elementary schools, as well as other projects. The bond was approved with 68.32 percent of voter approving the measure. This was the district's 23rd bond election.[1]
