Miguel del Valle
Miguel del Valle was a member of the Chicago Public Schools Board of Education in Illinois. Valle assumed office in 2019. Valle left office in 2023.
Biography
Miguel del Valle received a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Del Valle was a member of the Illinois State Senate from 1987 to 2006. He served as the City Clerk of Chicago from 2006 to 2011. He ran for mayor of Chicago in 2011 and lost the election.
Del Valle co-founded the Illinois Association of Hispanic State Employees and the Illinois Latino Advisory Council on Higher Education. He has served as the Illinois Student Assistance Commission and as chairman of Illinois P-20 Council.[1]
School board
The Chicago Board of Education consists of seven members who serve four-year terms. They are appointed by the mayor of Chicago.[2]
