Mikal Simonson

Mikal Simonson was a judge for the Southeast Judicial District of North Dakota. Judge Simonson is based out of Valley City, North Dakota, which is located in Barnes County.[1] He lost a bid for re-election in 2010.[2][3]

Simonson was defeated by challenger Jay Schmitz in the general election. Simonson received 48.36% of the vote.[2]

Education

Judge Simonson attended Valley City State University for his Bachelor of Science and his J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law.[4]

Career

Simonson engaged in civil practice/prosecutor for nine years and then served as Barnes County Judge from January 1986 until elected district judge in November 1994, 1998 and 2004.[4]
