Mike Atterberry is a judge for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. He was appointed to the position by the Illinois Supreme Court on May 1, 2014, for a term expiring on December 1, 2014, to fill the vacancy created by the election of Judge Carol Pope to the Fourth District Appellate Court.[1] He was elected to the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court in 2014 for a term that expired on December 6, 2020.[2]

Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 18, 2014, receiving 56.8 percent of the vote. He competed against Gabriel T. Grosboll.
General: He was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Education
Atterberry graduated from Porta High School and later earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1981. He received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1984.[6]
Career
Atterberry was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1984. From 1991 until 1998 he worked as the state's attorney for Menard County. Prior to his appointment in 2014, he served as the deputy bureau chief in the Trial Assistance Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General's Office. He worked for the Illinois Attorney General's Office for 14 years.[6]
