Mike Beam
Mike Beam is the Kansas Secretary of Agriculture. Beam assumed office in 2019. Beam's current term ends on January 11, 2027.
Biography
Beam worked for the Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) for 38 years, where he worked as a field representative from 1980 to 1983. He became executive secretary of the cow-calf/stocker division in 1983. He later served as senior vice president. Beam was executive director of the Ranchland Trust of Kansas from 2003 to 2018. He began his career as a county 4-H and youth extension agent in Dickinson County, Kansas.[1]

Beam assumed the office of state agriculture secretary in January 2019. He was appointed to the position by Gov. Laura Kelly (D). He succeeded Jackie McClaskey.[1]
