Branon ran in the 2010 election for Vermont State Senate Chittenden District. Branon was defeated by Democrats Virginia Lyons, Sally Fox, Timothy Ashe, Philip Baruth and Hinda Miller, and Republican Diane Snelling in the general election on November 2, 2010. Branon, Snelling, Shelley Palmer, Dennis Bedard, and Annette Roque Renaud were unopposed in the Republican primary election on August 24, 2010.[2][3]
