Two of seven seats on the Southwest Independent School District board of trustees in Texas were scheduled for general election on May 6, 2017. Due to lack of opposition, the election was canceled, and at-large incumbents Mike Frazier and Yolanda Garza-Lopez were automatically re-elected.[1]

Funding
Frazier did not file a campaign finance report with the Texas Ethics Commission.[2]
Endorsements
Southwest board members Sylvester Vasquez, Jr., Ida Sudolcan, James Sullivan, Jr., Florinda Bernal and Keith Byrom all endorsed Frazier and Garza-Lopez.[3]
