Campaign themes

2015

The following is a sample of issues which were taken from Flynn's campaign website:[4]

  • ObamaCare: "Obamacare must be repealed. It cannot be reformed or improved or fixed. The entire law is constructed in a way that won’t work in the real world. Worse, it uses the hammer of the IRS to force us into a system that doesn’t work. It will make health care worse. It will make our lives worse. "
  • Tax Reform: Choose the Code: "Everyone agrees we need to reform our tax code. The political system is gridlocked against any reform, though. Deep-pocketed special interests and lobbyists slice and dice the tax code in ways that benefit them and block any real reform effort. "
  • Tax Reform: Loophole Closing Commission: "The tax code is overly complicated because it is riddled with loopholes, credits, exemptions and deductions. Each one of these distorts the economy and our lives. Each one, though, also has powerful special interests fighting to preserve them. This causes gridlock. "
  • Restore Integrity of Congress: "A seat in the House of Representatives is a sacred trust with the citizens. It is not a family heirloom to be handed down. It is not a trinket to be bargained over by elected officials. It is not something to be decided by an entrenched political class. "
  • Conservative Leadership: "We must send a real leader to Washington and for more than 20 years, I have been a leader on real conservative change and reform. At the state level, I have won reforms to our civil justice, education, health care and tax systems. For two decades, I have fought against every tax increase, argued for tax reform and battled government spending. I have worked to develop innovate policy solutions to our most serious challenges. "
