Campaign themes

2016

Foster's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Job’s & the Economy

Over regulating individuals and businesses impedes us from entering the market place and providing competition, competition will alway break up monopolies quicker than government. You cannot regulate and legislate the economy of the 7th legislative district and Washington State into prosperity.

Health Care

Ridding ourselves of mandated benefits and allowing all health care insurer’s to compete against each other will certainly drive down the cost health insurance. Our current health care system is believed to somehow organize itself in ways that are not at all like every other sector of the economy. In a normal sector of the economy individuals buy and sell stuff based on their perception of what they want and the value it is worth. Price signals are virtually completely absent due to government regulation and mandates.

Education

I believe we should give the per person spending to the parents in an education investment account, let the parents choose the school and go from there. The education investment account overages could then be applied to each child’s advanced education at any college or trade school. I believe we must take these steps towards fixing this multi billion dollar system which really sucks for the very kids who are supposed to benefit from it.

Government Corruption

This is very easy, power corrupts, ultimate power ultimately corrupts. Please look at the person you would like to represent you and not the letter by their name. The Democratic party has held power since 1828, the Republican party has held power since 1854. This consolidation of power over time has led to the corruption and socialist principles of both parties. We need to return the voting power to the people and remove it from congress and the legislature at both the federal and state level. The only reason to bypass a vote of the people is in extreme circumstances like natural disasters.

Gas Prices

The current fuel excise tax is 44.5 cents per gallon in Washington State which ranks us as one of the highest in the nation compare to Connecticut, California, New York, Illinois and Michigan. This fuel excise tax is added to both unleaded and diesel fuel. Lowering or ridding ourselves of this fuel excise tax will lower the amount we pay per gallon.[1]
