Mike Gonzales was a 2017 Republican special election candidate for District 89 of the Iowa House of Representatives. He was also a 2016 special election candidate for District 45 of the Iowa State Senate.

A special election for the position of Iowa House of Representatives District 89 was held on January 31, 2017.[1]

The seat became vacant following Jim Lykam's (D) election to the state Senate.

Monica Hosch Kurth (D) defeated Mike Gonzales (R) in the special election.[1][2]
