Mike Green recommended for federal judgeship in New York
July 14, 2010
Rochester, New York: Monroe County District Attorney Mike Green is being considered for a judgeship on the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. On July 13, 2010, he was recommended by U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, who claimed, "Mike's integrity is unquestioned, and he has always been a moderate bipartisan figure who is known for calling a fair game."
Due to the assumption of senior status by Judge David Larimer in 2009, there is a vacant seat on the U.S. District Court in New York. Green has not yet been appointed by the President, but is a candidate for the position. The 48-year-old Democrat has served as the District Attorney of Monroe County since January of 2004.[1][2]
