2016
Kingsley's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[12]
2nd Amendment
- Excerpt: "As your legislator I will support and defend both the U.S Constitution and the Idaho Constitution. I will oppose any measure that erodes the 2nd Amendment."
Education
- Excerpt: "When I am your legislator, I will make sure bureaucrats don't stand in the way of teachers being able to unlock the potential of our children and themselves. If we invest in education and training, then businesses will invest in Idaho."
Healthcare
- Excerpt: "Government helped create the current healthcare cost crisis, so throwing a lifeline to those individuals in Idaho who cannot afford insurance is something that all legislators should consider, but it needs to be right for Idaho."
Lower taxes
- Excerpt: "Repeal Grocery Tax. Government should not tax something as essential to life as food. Repealing the grocery tax will have a positive impact for border and rural towns."
2014
Kingsley's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[13]
Education that Prepares
- Excerpt: "I will work hard to ensure our teachers are well compensated and that parents have a say in how their children are educated. The future prosperity of Idaho depends on the next generation and we must do everything we can to ensure our kids have the tools they need to be successful."
Job Creation
- Excerpt: "Job-creators make a strong economy and by streamlining restrictive government regulations, developing a fair and efficient tax code, and investing in a skilled work force we will create a more business friendly environment. Together we can ensure that Idaho becomes an attractive place to start or expand a business and provide living wage jobs."
Common Sense Healthcare
- Excerpt: "I will work to reform the state exchange and implement new ideas that help offset costs such as promoting alcohol and drug addiction recovery centers which have been proven to reduce healthcare costs and also prison populations in other states."

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
