Kinney said he wanted to address grade-point average requirements for athletes. Omaha Public Schools require athletes to maintain a 2.0 in order to participate in sports, which is higher than regulations of the Nebraska School Activities Association. “I’m asking the board and administration whether we should change our requirements too, whether we should petition the NSAA to change statewide requirements,” Kinney stated.[8]
