2016

McRedmond made the following statement to Ballotpedia regarding his political philosophy:[2]

The government exist to protect life, liberty, and property. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, are RESERVED to the States or to the People. Today, the government is too big, spends too much, and tries to do too much.

It is time to put that government back in its constitutional box. A decentralized, more local government is more responsive to the people. I will always vote for more freedom and less government. The liberty enshrined in the Bill of Rights shall not be compromised. [6]

—Mike McRedmond

He also highlighted his positions on the following issues:[2]

Self ownership

  • "You own your body, you own your thoughts, and you own the your property. I will always defend the rights of the individual."

Constitutional carry

  • "The right of the people to keep and bear arms, SHALL NOT be infringed."

Fiscal conservatism

  • McRedmond supports a federal Balanced Budget Amendment.
  • "It is immoral to deficit spend, only to pass this debt to future generations."

Tax reform

  • "The U.S. tax code at over 73000 pages is overly complex. Complexity breeds corruption. To reduce the influence of lobbyists and special interests, I support tax reform."
