Roseen participated in the following survey conducted by the Twin Cities Pioneer Press. The survey questions appear bolded, and Roseen's responses follow below.

What qualifies you to hold this position?

I have been on the school board for 26 years. I have held every board position and have served on every board committee. I have lived in district 196 for 41 years. I have the experience to continue to provide the quality education the district residents have come to expect.[7]
—Mike Roseen (2017)[8]

What would your top priorities be if elected?

The budget always has to be the top priority. Without a budget nothing can be accomplished. Its my duty to make sure the budget reflects what the citizens want. School safety and hiring the best employees are other priorities.[7]
—Mike Roseen (2017)[8]

What do you think is the primary role of government?

The primary goal would be the safety and security of its citizens. But government has always had a role in educating our children. Public education provides the opportunity for all children to receive the quality education they deserve so that our country will be strong and secure in the future.[7]
—Mike Roseen (2017)[8]
