Mike Slattery
Mike Slattery is a former Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 24 from 2009 to 2013. He is the son of Jim Slattery, who served the 2nd District of Kansas from 1983-1995.
Mike received a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Science and Technology with an emphasis in Energy and Environmental Policy from James Madison University. He works for J.E. Dunn Construction.[1]
Policy positions
Slattery's website lists his legislative priorities as "supporting public education, helping Kansas become a leader in finding new alternative energy sources, and ensuring that every Kansan has access to health care."[2]
He refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[3]

2008
On November 4, 2008, Slattery was elected to the 24th District Seat in the Kansas House of Representatives, defeating Ronnie Metsker (R) and Jason Peck (L).[6] Slattery raised $70,286 for his campaign, while Metsker raised $46,035 and Peck raised $675.[7]
