Campaign themes
2014
Weiland's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
Economy
- Excerpt: "Start to slowly shift the focus to renewable energy sources. Maybe have some of the coal and mineral industries invest in their future to make that happen. Some of the LSRA money could go towards renewable energy research at the University of Wyoming."
Worker Rights, Pay and Safety
- Excerpt: "I support raising the minimum wage in Wyoming for all workers, including tipped employees."
Education
- Excerpt: "I also support the Comon [sic] Core standards and the Next Generatyion [sic] Science Standards."
Environment
- Excerpt: "I support outdoor recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, camping and hiking on public lands."
- Excerpt: "I suppoert [sic] a statewide program that has a goal of achieving zero waste by reducing, reusing and recycliong [sic] all materials."
Roads and Other Infrastructure
- Excerpt: "Infrastructure includes such things as roads and bridges. Our roads need constant maintainence [sic] and the increased fuel tax that went into effect in July 2013 is a help. However, this still leaves the state needing much more money to just maintain its roads. I support looking into the use of some of our saved money as a method to make up that deficit. Without good roads, businesses and tourists will not be as likely to come to Wyoming."
