Williams issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:
| “ | First and foremost, I grew up in District 38. I was born and raised in Homestead Farm and coached swimming for several years in Heritage Village. Medema is the park I grew up playing in. I went to Lewis Ames Elementary. I attended Newton Middle School; and I graduated from Arapahoe High School - the best high school in the state! Some of my closest friends are teachers at Littleton Public Schools (and they share their concerns daily), and my brothers live in this district. District 38 is personal.
I served my country, now I want to serve my community because it has given me so much. I am a Millennial and we are a huge part of spreading the party's message and winning the general election in 2016. I have a strong Millennial backing - but more importantly I can appeal to all generations and all races - we are the people's party. My degree from CSU in political science and a double Masters in Public Administration and Urban and Regional Planning, will provide me with the requisite knowledge to ensure District 38 is getting the most out of its Colorado government. While in office I will make sure the voices of those in District 38 are heard! I will ensure the state is doing everything in its capacity to efficiently and effectively fund education and transportation costs. Further, small businesses and local governments are laboratories for innovation, therefore the state needs to continue to enhance Colorado's business environment and ensure local governments are getting the state resources they deserve.
