Issues in the district

Two-cent levy increase

In early September 2014, the Millard Board of Education defended a proposed two-cent levy increase against criticism. Board members said the tax increase would be used to avoid cutting programs and depleting the district's reserves while also keeping facilities up to date. The proposed levy would have raised the tax on homes by two cents per $100 of valuation. Leading the opposition was Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom, led by Doug Kagan.[6]
