Elections

Voter and candidate information

The Millard school board consists of six at-large members elected to four-year terms. A primary election was held on May 10, 2016, due to the fact that the number of candidates who filed to run in the election was more than double the number of seats up for election. The top six vote-getters advanced to the general election, which was held on November 8, 2016. The board members elect a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer during an organizational meeting each January.[3]

To be elected to the board, candidates must reside in the boundaries of the school district and be a registered voter.[3][4]

Candidates had until March 1, 2016, to file their nomination papers with Douglas County. Incumbents had to file by February 16, 2016.[5]
