Mindy Denninger participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on September 13, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Mindy Denninger's responses follow below.[1]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
| “ | 1) Quality of place – repairing, maintaining, and improving Michigan’s infrastructure such as roads, bridges, water, communications, transit, energy and public health and safety systems.
2) Quality of life – well-paying jobs, access to healthcare, affordable car insurance, and an effective safety net so that all people can lead good lives. 3) A sustainable future – well-funded education that positions Michiganders success in a changing world, and preservation of our natural resources.[2][3] |
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
| “ | I am personally passionate about areas of public policy that affect the environment and Michigan's natural resources. We only get one planet and denying the impact of human activity keeps us from enacting legislation that protects and maintains it. I want future generations to not just be able to survive but to enjoy the unique outdoor recreational activities that make Michigan a great place to live and visit.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Mindy Denninger answered the following:
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
| “ | Our elected officials must have integrity. That means being honest about what is motivating their actions, and acting in a way that doesn't need to be hidden.[3] | ” |
| “ | I am able to understand complex issues and the impact of proposals to address them. In my career I was trained and experienced in analytical problem solving and using creative thinking to develop innovative solutions. I know how to be flexible and work together with a variety of people to cooperate and compromise to get important work done.[3] | ” |
| “ | Right now in Michigan we need new faces in our legislature that are not tied to the old ways of doing things. Lansing is gridlocked because of a refusal to work towards real solutions to the big issues. Government officials with ""experience"" in being influenced by lobbyists and corporate donors are not what Michigan needs right now to solve the problems facing our great state.[3] | ” |
