Primary: She was defeated in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 35.9 percent of the vote. She competed against Michelle V. Baker.

Education
Simpson earned her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University and her J.D. from the University of Florida.[3]
Career
Simpson started her legal career at the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). After working at DCF, she joined the Public Defender's Office, transitioning to private practice in 2006.[4]
