The Minnesota Restrict Issuance of Railroad Bonds Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the November 4, 1879 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure restricted the issuance of county, town and municipal bonds to aid railroads to 5% or less of the value of taxable property within the county, town or municipal area.[1]
