Minnesota Rural Credit Land Taxation, Amendment 4 (1932)

The Minnesota Rural Credit Land Taxation Amendment, also known as Amendment 4, was on the November 8, 1932 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have authorized the taxation of lands acquired through the rural credit system.[1]

Although the measure gathered more "yes" votes than "no" votes, Minnesota requires that the majority of all voters vote "yes" in order to pass an amendment. In 1932, there were 1,054,203 total voters, requiring a vote of at least 527,102 to pass a measure.
