Minnesota Supreme Court rules against governor
May 5, 2010
Minnesota: On Wednesday, May 5, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that Governor Tim Pawlenty exceeded his authority when he made budget cuts to a government program with legislative approval. The cuts in question were $5.3 million dollars wroth of funding for a nutrition program for elderly and disabled adults, The ruling may also have impacts of cuts the governor made last summer; though it is unsure to what extent, the court did call what he did "unlawful and void."[1]
