The Minnesota Taxation on Taconite, Copper and Nickel Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the November 3, 1964 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure prevented the amendment or repeal of taconite tax policies for 25 years. The measure also authorized the legislature to impose limitations for up to 25 years on taxation of copper and nickel mining.[1]
