Minnie Rivera is a former Position 6 representative on the Galena Park Independent School District school board in Texas. Appointed in 2014, Rivera won a new term in the by-district general election on May 6, 2017. She resigned from the board in 2019.

Rivera also served on the board from 2007 to 2010.

Three seats on the Galena Park Independent School District school board were scheduled for general election on May 6, 2017. However, the election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Positions 5, 6, and 7 incumbents Wilfred J. Broussard, Jr., Minnie Rivera, and Dawn Fisher were automatically re-elected.[2]

Results

Rivera was automatically re-elected.

Funding

No school board candidate in this race had filed a campaign finance report with the Harris County Department of Education as of April 17, 2017.[3]

The general election on May 9, 2015, in the Galena Park Independent School District featured three seats up for election. The terms of Position 1 incumbent Joe Stephens, Position 2 incumbent Wanda Heath Johnson, and appointed Position 6 incumbent Minnie Rivera were up for election. Since all board members were running unopposed, the district opted to cancel the election.
