Born to working-class immigrant parents, Mireya Arroyo has lived as someone from humble beginnings trying to better the lives of her children and her family. Her journey is a testament to the American dream, having immigrated to the United States at the age of 11 and proudly attaining U.S. citizenship in 2006.

Breaking barriers within her own family, Mireya became the first to secure a college degree, a significant achievement that reflects her dedication to education and personal growth. Raised by hardworking parents who worked in fast food and the plumbing industries, she learned the values of diligence, determination, and the critical importance of family.

As a single mother, Mireya has raised two sons, focused on instilling in them the same values that her parents taught her. Her boys both attend local public schools in the Washington Elementary and Glendale Union High School Districts. Professionally, she has dedicated her career to Human Resources, specializing in assisting individuals through the complexities of insurance claims, navigating military leave, and planning for retirement. She currently works in the public sector ensuring that first responders are taken care of.

Driven by a profound commitment to public service, Mireya Arroyo has decided to run for the position of Moon Valley Justice of the Peace. Her platform is rooted in the principles of integrity, compassion, and fairness, qualities she believes are essential for effective leadership.
  • I am running because our court system needs urgent reform. As the court closest to the people and the one handling evictions, it has a direct impact on our community. Over the past four years, we've seen a troubling rise in homelessness. I am committed to collaborating with nonprofit and state agencies to provide support within the court, helping prevent individuals and families from ending up on the streets. It's vital that we take care of our community, especially our veterans who are suffering.
  • I am the only candidate endorsed by over 12 current or former Democratic elected officials and our Arizona Democratic Secretary of State Adrian Fontes. I am running on a platform of Democratic values which include leading the court with transparency, accountability, and integrity.
  • I am committed to fostering a more informed and engaged community by providing accessible legal education and resources. My goal is to create programs and workshops that educate residents on their rights and responsibilities, the judicial process, and available community services. By empowering individuals with knowledge and support, I aim to reduce recidivism and help community members successfully reintegrate into society, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to lead productive, law-abiding lives.
I deeply care about homelessness, education (making sure that our educators are paid what they deserve), and affordable housing.
Any office holder regardless of party should be transparent and accountable to the community they represent.
