The Mississippi Candidate Districts, Amendment 5, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Mississippi on November 3, 1987, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed that the constitution be amended via House Concurrent Resolution No. 41. The amendment proposed to amend: Section 41, which would require that candidates reside in the district in which they are seeking office.[1]
