The Mississippi State Pensions, Amendment 2, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Mississippi on November 4, 1986, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed that the constitution be amended via Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 518. The amendment proposed to place in trust all assets and income of the Public Employee’s Retirement System and the Highway Safety Patrol Retirement System for the exclusive purpose of paying administrative expenses and providing benefits to eligible members of the two systems.[1]
