The Missouri County Assessor Amendment was not on the ballot in Missouri as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 5, 2024.
This amendment would have required Jackson County to have an elected county assessor instead of an unelected assessment department.[1]

To put a legislatively referred constitutional amendment before voters, a simple majority vote is required in both the Missouri State Senate and the Missouri House of Representatives.
Amendment in the state Legislature
The amendment was introduced on December 1, 2023. The Missouri House of Representatives voted to pass the measure by 116-10 on March 7, 2024.
