The Missouri Tax on Capital Gains for Renewable Energy Initiative did not appear on the ballot in Missouri as an initiated state statute on November 5, 2024.
This measure would have established a state tax on long-term capital gains and qualified dividends, using the tax revenues to increase the percentage generated by renewable sources in Missouri until 90% or more of the state's electricity comes from renewable sources.[1]
