  • In 2011, Daniels signed HB 1002, which placed charter schools under the same standards as public schools. The law requires charter schools to meet the same accountability measures as public schools.[3]
  • In 2011, Daniels signed HB 1003, which extended tax deductions for parents who send their children to private schools or home schools. The bill also extended scholarships to low-income families to place their children in private schools when their designated public school received "low category designations for school performance and improvement."[4]
