Rucker ran in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 117. He and John W. Unruh were defeated by John L. Ewy in the August 7 Republican primary. Dennis McKinney was unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
