|My family moved to Hawthorne in 1987. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to give back to the community. For the past 15 years, I have served the Hawthorne community in different ways such as – serving at senior luncheons and performing grocery deliveries providing scholarships to local high school students, main chef at Hawthorne Police Department K-9 dinners, community BBQ’s and so much more. I am also a member of the Islamic Center of Hawthorne, and I have been an active member for over 15 years. During the month of Ramadan, the Islamic Center and I have been responsible for Iftar dinners and Suhoor serving over 300 fasting Muslims. I have been honored with several proclamations through many organizations such as Kiwanian of the Year, City of Hawthorne Volunteer Appreciation Day and assisting with the cooking for the annual Juneteenth celebration. That’s just to name a few.
Aside from my community work, I am a small business owner in the City of Hawthorne. I transport district students with special needs to and from school.- Board member and community leader
- Father of 4 amazing kids.
- Hawthorne’s champion for the people.
Accountability and transparency.
Youth leader and mentor.
An effective office holder must perform the ultimate balancing act, making decisions to meet the needs of his or her constituency—the rich and the poor, the young and the elderly, the needs of minorities and the majority, the privileged and the disenfranchised, all while adhering to governing laws and regulations.
